Terms of Use

The terms that govern use of canwyf.org and the iTONA platform at app.canwyf.org.

These terms govern your use of the CANWYF website (canwyf.org) and the iTONA platform (app.canwyf.org). Both are operated by the Community Advocacy Network for Women, Youth and Farmers ("CANWYF"), an Incorporated Trustee registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, IT No. 7915762, whose registered office is at 32 Orisumbare Street, Nova Road 6, Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. By using either, you agree to these terms.

1. About CANWYF

CANWYF is a non-profit, non-political organisation. It advocates for policies that support sustainable agriculture, gender equality and youth development, and delivers that mandate through its programmes. Everything it receives is applied to its registered objects. No part of its income is paid to any trustee or member as profit.

2. Using this website

You may read, share and link to the content of this website for non-commercial purposes, with attribution to CANWYF.
You must not attempt to access parts of the website or platform you are not authorised to use, interfere with their operation, or submit false information through any form.
Information on this website is provided in good faith. Figures marked as targets or plans are not results, and programmes marked "in design" are not yet running.

3. Donations and pledges

Donations to CANWYF are made only by transfer into the bank account in CANWYF’s registered name that is shown on our Support page. We never ask anyone to pay into a personal account. Anyone asking you to do so is not acting for CANWYF; please report it to info@canwyf.org.
A pledge recorded on this website is a statement of intention only. It creates no obligation on you, and you may withdraw it at any time by email.
A donation is a gift. It is not an investment, carries no financial return of any kind, and confers no ownership, interest or right in CANWYF, its programmes or any farmer's produce.
A donation towards a farmer's enrolment pays for the field cost of enrolment. It does not buy a seal or any particular credential decision, which only the farmer's chapter Seal Council can make.

4. The iTONA platform and public verification

Enrolment, verification and use of the platform are free to farmers, women and youth. No CANWYF coordinator or chapter officer may charge for them.
A credential is shown as either Provisional — CANWYF attested (evidence recorded and attested by CANWYF) or Sealed (confirmed by the farmer's chapter Seal Council). Each status says only what it says. A credential is evidence of identity and recorded activity; it is not a guarantee of any farmer's produce, conduct or creditworthiness, and you should make your own enquiries before relying on it.
The verification service may be used by buyers, lenders, funders, researchers and the public to check a credential by its reference number. You must not use it to compile, copy or republish farmers' personal information in bulk.
Coordinator and administrator accounts are personal to the holder and must not be shared.

5. AgroMarket

AgroMarket is an introduction service. A farmer lists what they have; a buyer can see the listing and verify the farmer before making contact.
Farmer and buyer deal with each other directly. CANWYF is not a party to any sale. It does not take title to produce, does not handle or hold any payment, and takes no fee or commission on the sale.
CANWYF is not responsible for the quality, quantity, delivery or payment of anything agreed between a farmer and a buyer.

6. What CANWYF does not offer

CANWYF does not hold anyone's money, operate a wallet or stored balance, lend, underwrite insurance, accept investment, promise returns, or trade in produce. Nothing on this website or the platform is an offer of any of these things. If crop insurance is offered in future, it will be underwritten by a NAICOM-licensed insurer who holds the premium and carries the risk.

7. Who owns the software and the data

The iTONA software is owned by Green Francis Limited and licensed to CANWYF free of charge. The data recorded through the platform belongs to CANWYF, not to Green Francis Limited, and CANWYF is its data controller. See our privacy notice.

8. Intellectual property

The CANWYF name and logo, and the programme names iTONA Africa, Ecovitalize Africa, Women on Record and Next Harvest, identify CANWYF's programmes and may not be used to suggest endorsement without written permission. Website text and images are CANWYF's unless otherwise credited.

9. Third-party services

The website uses third-party services such as web fonts and weather and soil data providers. Their own terms apply to them. Links to other websites are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement.

10. Limitation of liability

The website and platform are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, CANWYF is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information published here, from interruption of the service, or from any dealing between farmers, buyers or other users. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
